The coaches and players of the UAB Men’s Basketball team make the fundamentals of basketball even more fun by bringing energy and excitement to camp each day. You’ll get to meet the whole team, make new friends, and practice your basketball skills with some of the best coaches and players in the NCAA.

MEET THE COACH & FOUNDERAndy Kennedy

With over 17 years of head coaching experience at the NCAA level, Andy Kennedy has dedicated his life to basketball and all the players he’s coached along the way. This premier summer camp program is an extension of Coach Kennedy’s passion for the sport and his commitment to community.

  • The UAB Basketball team were 2022 Conference USA Champions 

  • UAB Men’s Basketball team had a 29 win season (Most in school history in a single season) 2022-23

  • UAB is Coach Kennedy’s Alma Mater! He played basketball for the Blazers from 1988-1991 and holds multiple school records

  • Originally, there was no official mascot! Blaze, the fire-breathing dragon was first introduced in 1995. We can’t imagine the team without him now!

  • At the start of UAB athletics in 1978, a campus vote settles on “Blazers” for the team nickname because they set sights on blazing a new trail in college athletics

  • Coach Kennedy scored an impressive 1,787 points in just three seasons - the second most in UAB Men’s Basketball History

  • UAB won the 2023-2024 AAC Tournament Championship in their first year in the conference
